Next up in our 2019 AmericanaFest Video Sessions is Shreveport, Louisiana singer-songwriter, Dylan LeBlanc. Filmed during the 2019 AmericanaFest, this session captures four tracks from LeBlanc’s critically acclaimed record, Renegade.
The title track off the new record, “Renegade” showcases LeBlanc’s distinct vocals while giving insight into the guys he grew up with in Shreveport where “you had to have this cocksure attitude to sort of survive”. “Honor Among Thieves”, inspired by family separation at the Mexican border, joins the self-reflective “Sand and Stone” and the somber, yet yearning “Lone Rider” to complete the session.
Renegade, the fourth studio album from LeBlanc, was released in Juni 2019 on ATO Records. The “defiant rock & roll record” (Rolling Stone) was produced by Grammy Award-winner Dave Cobb and recorded at Nashville’s famous RCA Studio A.
“Welcome to LeBlanc’s finest hour,” writes American Songwriter. “A full-fledged Tom Petty styled strum rocker, complete with enhanced reverb and a driving insistently propulsive rhythm.”
Since his debut in 2010, LeBlanc has toured extensively worldwide including shows with Bruce Springsteen, First Aid Kit, Drive-By Truckers, Lucinda Williams, Alabama Shakes, Anderson East, The Wood Brothers, and more. LeBlanc has a few select tour dates across the US through the end of the year.
